Welcome to Sweeps & Sculls Rowing! We're excited that you, or your son or daughter, will be joining us! There are a couple of things that you will need to do in order to complete your registration. Please contact Coach Sue (sue@sweepsandsculls.org) if you have any questions or have any issues with this process.
We use iCrew for our calendar, attedance, communication, etc. You will need to set up a rower profile in iCrew so that you can see sessions and mark attendance. This will also put you on the email list. A couple of notes on iCrew:
Registraton Profiles - There are several registration profiles to choose from. Choose the one that you think makes the most sense for you. Don't worry if it's not quite right, your profile can always be adjusted once you are in the system.
**Alternate Email Addresses** If there are other people that you would like to have receive emails, please list them in the "Alternate Email Address" field separated by a semicolon. This is particularly important for parents that are setting up profiles for their kids. Make sure your email address (and the email addresses of other parents, guardians, etc.) is listed in the alternate email address field.
Required Fields - There are several Parent/Guardian fields that are required. Parents/guardians of youth rowers, please fill in these fields. If not all fields are applicable, just fill in "none". Adult rowers, just fill in "none" for these fields.
Allergies or Special Needs - please include 2 things in this field:
Anything that emergency services would need to know if you or your rower were unable to communicate (e.g. medications or medical conditions that may affect medical care).
Anything that a coach would need to know to better work with you or your rower and ensure they are safe on the water (medical conditions, allergies, assistive devices, etc.). Common examples include asthma and need to carry an inhaler, allergy to bee stings and need to carry an epi pen, diabetes and need to carry a "kit" with them, but could also include things like pace makers, POTS, etc.
Swim Pre-qualification form - if you will be rowing on the water (now or eventually), you will be asked to complete a Swim Pre-qualificaiton form. This form is part of our club safety plan and gives the coaches some insight in to each rower's swimming skills and experience. Rowers are eventually required to complete a Basic Safety Certfication.
Sweeps & Sculls Waiver - Once your profile is set up, please log in to iCrew and click on "Documents" and sign the Sweeps & Sculls Waiver. Parents, see note below about options for how to sign documents for your rower.
Code of Conduct (youth rowers & parents) - If you are signing up for any of our youth teams, both a parent and the rower should also read and sign the Privateers Code of Conduct, also found under "Documents". Parents, see note below about options for how to sign documents for your rower.
**Parents Signing Documents - Parents need to sign both of the above documents in addition to their rowers. You can do this one of three ways:
Parent DOES have their own iCrew profile - parents that are also rowers and have their own iCrew profiles can sign their rowers documents in iCrew by going to thier own "Documents" section. You should see your rower's documents listed with a "sign" button as long as your rowers are associated with your profile via a family key.
Parent does not have their own iCrew profile - Digital signature option - if you do not have an iCrew profile, you can click on the "Speech Bubble" icon and leave a comment that says something like "Reviewed and signed Sue Koscielski 4/3/23"
Parent does not have their own iCrew profile - Print, sign and upload option - if you prefer, you can print the document, sign it, then take a picture of it and upload it in iCrew. Click the "Cloud" icon to upload the image of the signed document.

We also use GroupMe for group texting. GroupMe is generally used for annoucements that are best sent via text such as practice changes or cancellations due to weather, event updates, and other information that will affect travel, transportation, timing, etc. on your part. Please use the links below to join the GroupMe Groups that are relevant to you. You can mute groups, or remove yourself from groups at any time.
You will want to get in the habit of keeping an eye on GroupMe before, during and after practices and events. If there are updates, changes, etc. that you need to be aware of, they will be put in GroupMe.
