Hotel:
Parking is going to be slightly differnt this year. The lower lot is going to be for shell trailers and tow vehicles only. The two lots marked "Open Parking" are athlete and spectator parking, however, if you get there later, you may need to park in the overflow parking lot. Overflow parking will be across the street at Geiss Soccer parking. It will be about a 25 min walk from that site to the regatta site. Parenst, you are more than welcome to drop off your rower then go to the overflow parking area.
This is a 2k bouyed race course. You will be able to see the second half of the race, but the first half will be difficult to see. Rowers tent is typically near the finish.
It is really important that everyone going to the regatta has GroupMe loaded on a device and unmutes it so that you are getting updates. You also need to be sure that you are checking GroupMe regularly for updates. We will only be sending updates via GroupMe next weekend.
Please see Regattas 101 for information on what parents should, what rowers should pack, and what to expect at a regatta.
Some of you may need to sign your rower's US Rowing waiver online in order for them to compete at the regatta. If this affects you, you will get an email.
It is possible that weather may delay racing. If this is the case the following strategies may be taken by the regatta organizers to accommodate a shorter racing schedule.
Cancel novice events
Cancel small boat events
Reduce to approximately 1000 meters, a floating start and 6 minute centers
Eliminate finals, in which case awards will be determined by heat times
Cancel regatta
It is also possible that in cases of wind the LOC, along with the chief referee, may make the decision to cancel small boat events and or novice events in the interest of competitor safety.
**Please be aware that even if events are not cancelled, coaches may choose to scratch boats in the interest of safety.
